Dune is the only source of the mysterious spice that gives whomever controls it dominion over commerce and civilization. By way of an ancient prophecy, a young man, Paul Atreides, realizes his destiny. He will become a messiah to the people of Arrakis and lead a rebellion against the corrupt galactic empire and forever change the face of Arrakis and the balance of power in the universe.
