RE: Captain's Collection
Most of the people I have talked to love the inscriptions and the variants. What they don't like is inconsistency! For example such as Sean Keanny too many different variants, makes it hard for someone to consider making a set of variants they will have to get every single card he signed to have a set :-p. What they like is consistency, and the ability to finish a set of variants, let's say a card is very limited to 300, it is preferred that the signer signs 10 different inscriptions of 30 cards each, this way it gives a variants collector the chance to get one of each.

I love variants. Are the inscription autographs on the checklist all of the ones made or just a few.

Haha.... the Beep Beep card is pretty funny. Wasn't one beep "no" and two beeps "yes" (or vice versa)? That's a pretty funny inscription - poor guy trapped in a box... I guess one person's cage is another's menagerie.

RE: Captain's Collection
So, I wanted to chat a bit about the set. I haven't had time to sit down and get into the nitty gritty. But, I wanted to offer generalizations. Parallel sets-people have mixed feelings on parallels and on the list set I barely sold any of them. This parallel set goes back to it's roots. It's not all that rare, easier to collect. Adds a little bit of 'chase' that doesn't really exist in the base set anymore. Let's dealers make a smidge bit of coin. The dual bridge crew cards are amazing! Much love. Inscription cards-fun way to take limited cards and give them some value. If you don't collect variants, get one of each actor...maybe one that pleases you (I for example kept a Sean Kenney with the inscription 'beep beep' which cracks me up so hard ;) If you want to chase after variants, you'll have a bit of a challenge but it's not TERRIBLY overwhelming. There's like 2 VLs and two ELs, the rest are limited (with one commons) I spent a good amount of time carefully selecting the one I felt represented the character to me personally. Sketches are really pretty. I'm keeping a couple extra then I usually do.

RE: Captain's Collection
Classic style autograph cards are my favorite :-) . Although I am curious to know how many different inscriptions each actor has for the inscription cards.

RE: Captain's Collection
If you could only pick one insert set out of this collection to complete, what would it be? I'm debating between the inscription cards (weird choice for a girl who doesn't do variants) and the dual insert cards.

RE: Captain's Collection
OK, so I've been struggling to come up with a contest idea..not because there aren't good ideas left, but because my brain is generally just fried...but one of my customers offered a suggestion and I like it ;) So, here goes: At this time, the winning entry will get a set of case toppers. I may change that though to something else if I find I can offer something nicer. All entries will get a random autograph of my choosing. PLEASE be patient with my turn around time on getting the cards out. I am expecting a visit from my in-laws, this card set and possibly another trip up to Ohio in a small space of time. If you enter and need to know what card you'll get, I can of course, try to help with that :) So, the contest is this..the set is called the Captain's Collection, so send me a list of the 6 Captains of the various series (7 if you want to count TOS Kirk and Reboot Kirk as separate) and what you think they'd collect, if they were collectors. They don't need to collect cards, can be anything or anyone ;) And explain your choices. Any questions, let me know! Send entries to stcardgeek@gmail.com If you're feeling kind to tired old me, use a subject in the email of My entry. That's not required though, just makes it easier for me to track. You have until release day.

RE: Captain's Collection
It wasnt a burn, hence my wink at the end. I think we are all a little off the grid. My husband harasses me all the time for spending thousands of dollars on little pieces of cardboard!

I feeeeeeelllll like I'm being burned here, but surely you wouldn't do that after all the time I spent over the years trying to pick pretty signatures ;)

Some may argue you've been off the grid for a lot longer than a month. Depends on what grid... just sayin' ;-)

RE: Captain's Collection
Sorry for being off the grid so much the last month, esp. on a card set I'm super excited about. TOS being the bestest, of course. I looovee the sketchcards by Price, And so much excitement to see the blended TOS.Reboot crew on one card, and look foreword to other blending in the future. (like a full on Captains and their Ships insert cards!!!)

Ok. I saw what the Bridge Crew Duals cards look like, they are nice! But I'm still not a fan of combining the classic TOS with the reboot movies.

Captain's Collection
Those inscription cards look insanely good. I love the dominant color and open autograph space. Though, I am curious of how limited they will be. Any news on the checklist?
